In January we had a couple of snow days (yay!), so I wanted to include some winter weather in our art. Snowy Night LandscapesThese gorgeous snowy landscapes were inspired by one of Cassie Stephen's projects linked here. I just LOVED how these came out, and the kids loved making them! It took 2 sessions to complete- 1 day for intro and painting, the next class for collage and drawing details. This mixed media project is a great intro to landscapes, space, cool colors, and more! Playful PenguinsThese colorful penguins were also a "borrowed" project from Deep Space Sparkle linked here. This was also a 2 session lesson. Students loved getting the freedom to paint their background with as many colors as they wanted. I showed them pictures of sunset skies and then just let them go for it. The next class we drew, cut out, and glued our penguin parts together. Then students added winter gear to give their penguin some style and warmth. These also turned out super cute!
