Pete the Cat loves Primary Colors! And so does Piet Mondrian.Kindergarteners love Pete the Cat, and so do teachers. I have gotten many compliments on these from teachers and administrators walking by :) We connected Pete the Cat to Piet Mondrian by looking at primary colors which are found in each. I also introduced portraiture in this lesson by having Pete serve as our subject. This was a guided drawing, and we looked at the illustrations in the book to match his features. Once Pete was finished we looked at Piet Mondrian's paintings again for inspiration to fill in our background with a line or shape pattern. This part they created on their own with little guidance. I just love them! |
