1st grade Fall Leaf Mobiles First grade discussed the season of Fall and looked at leaf colors and shapes. They learned that leaves are organic shapes, and how to draw them. We also talked about mobiles and movement. The challenge was tying the string (we used fishing line) onto the branch and making a knot! Many of them got it, and those students helped the others. This project was a big hit, students were so proud of their work! Kindergarten Fall Trees Kindergarten used scraps from 1st grade's leaf mobiles and tore the scraps into small "leaves" to make a Fall tree. Students learned how to draw a tree with branches, and then glued the leaves around the tree and on the ground. Kindergarten Emoji Pumpkins Kindergarten looked at a pumpkin and we described how it looks. Students created the circle by tracing a small plate, then cut out the circle and glued it to a background of their choice. They drew the details they needed in their background. Lastly, we looked at some different emoji faces, and talked about what their expressions mean, and students chose a face to draw on their pumpkin.
